Into each life some rain must fall… these ethernal words came true last night for more than 15 members of project BSN*. As you probably read in the story published here, we planned to launch Bright Side of News on March 15, 2009 at 23:59 CET. The campaign was a consequence of deadlines given to me by the lead programmer, who was supposed to deliver the site on March 4, 2009.
The problem? BSN* Live CMS. Our idea is to offer a evolutionary, Facebook/Twitter-like experience in the world of CMS and offer it to the world once our teethering issues are all sorted out. After four months our of development, development team did not produce workable, W3C-compliant site engine. They are getting there, though
We are now working on squashing bugs and proofing site rendering on all major operating systems. Every time you want to do something extra, you have obstacles to overcome. Sadly, this first obstacle cost us a day or two in deployment, but nothing is lost. As soon as front-end is sorted, you’ll be welcomed by the new site on the Bright Side of News domain.
Every birth is difficult, and if you’re giving birth to something really special, we have to overcome these difficulties. A little patience, not long now. We are working hard on launching the site during this week.
As the slogan on Digg says, “Patience, my friend, is a virtue…”. Good luck on squashing those bugs

Well, they’re getting squashed every hour… persons that messed up are now working from 10AM to 1AM…
I’ve changed the dates to the point where I could develop the site on my own – December, January, February and now middle of March… overall, not satisfied.

Well, *somebody* had time from December 4, 2008 to deliver something that is *not* so complicated by March 4, 2009 – self-imposed deadline, bear in mind.
Promised delivery on February 15, and March 4, failed to meet both targets without in-depth explanation what went wrong. I am a very patient person, even though I flame up higher than last summer fires in California… but, if you say that you will deliver on time, and then openly lie about it, then we have a problem which will be resolved unilaterally.
This is not a project of one person and a programer… this is a project that involves 16 people and their livehoods were at stake. As a journalist, I understood why editors and bosses have to make decisions that aren’t popular. As an editor, I enforced decisions, but always kept a friendly face and understanding for the people below, even if they would fail.
As a boss… hey, I have 16 mouths to feed. It was can you do it alone in 4 months or do you need help. “No, I can manage, easy peasy”. In February, two more people joined. Easy peasy came crashing down. Now, a single person stepped in and we’re moving @the speed of light compared to the individuals before.
Who am I going to hire on a permanent salary? Well, guess and then guess again
